Donna Waddell

Native Atlantan. Professor Emeritus from the University of North Georgia where she was the faculty adviser of the Gay-Straight Alliance. Recovering Methodist and Roman Catholic. Founding member of Georgia Mountains and Mountain Light Unitarian Universalist Churches. Currently a Grief Recovery Specialist. Retired marathoner and triathlete. Hiked the Georgia portion of the Appalachian Trail. Now a couch potato and mom to Riley.

Donna WaddellDonna Waddell is a charter member of Mountain Light UUC and also a founding member who served on the steering committee that started this congregation. Before being vitally involved in birthing Mountain Light, she was on the steering committee that started Georgia Mountains UUC in Dahlonega, our parent congregation.

Donna has served Mountain Light in various capacities, including as President. She ran an earlier incarnation of our children's RE program for 18 months, and she is currently the Director of Sunday Services.

Donna is a retired professor of Nursing at North Georgia College and State University. She has two children and two grandchildren. At the moment, she is trying to retire from marathon race running and race walking and enter the field of personal training, focusing on working with older adults.
