Rev. Barry Whittemore

Rev. Barry Whittemore is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister having served at the GA Mountains UU Church in Dahlonega. Rev. Whittemore has also served congregations in Birmingham AL, Outlaw's Bridge Universalist church in North Carolina, and Holston Valley UUC in Tennessee.

Dr. Whittemore has 27 years of teaching experience ranging from community college, seminaries, to the Mountain School for Congregational Leadership. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Va Tech, Masters' degrees from Radford University and from Carnegie Mellon.

He earned his Doctorate at Carnegie Mellon and his Master of Divinity from Duke University. Dr. Whittemore currently teaches Appalachian, American, and religious history at UNG.

His greatest pleasure comes from traditional southern mountain Old Time music and dance.
