Carl Southard Jackson III, age 69 of Dalton, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was born July 27, 1951, in Gordon County to the late Carl S. Jackson, Jr., and Bessie Whittemore Jackson.  He is a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in Vietnam.  After his time in the Army, he became a self-employed truck driver.  Carl was a member of the Shriners.

He is survived by his daughter, Becca Anderson Morrow and her husband, Charlie of Dalton; three sisters:  Jane Davis (Mike) of Resaca; Sharon Shackleford (Frank) of Sautee, GA; Marion Billingsley (Wayne) of Marietta; three grandchildren:  Lilly Morrow, Andie Morrow, and Bennett Morrow.

The family received friends on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Thomas Funeral Home, 1 to 2 p.m.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family requested that everyone wear face coverings and practice safe social distancing.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
