Sunday Service 2018 SEP 16

For our Sunday morning worship service on 2018 September 16, Mountain Light Unitarian Universalist Church (MLUUC) in Ellijay is pleased to have a member of our congregation, Ed Wolpert, as our speaker.

His topic is “Israel in 2018: It’s Complicated”.  The presentation will focus on three conflicts: Ultraorthodox Jews and other Jews, Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs, and Israelis and Palestinians

Dr. Wolpert started his teaching career in New York City in 1962. He received a doctorate in education from the University of Kansas in 1970 and has had a significant career in college teaching and administration. In 1997, he also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Georgia College and State University and presents himself as an alumnus of GC&SU and a professor as well as a dean emeritus. He had a significant role in the development of the field-based undergraduate cohort programs and the field-based Master of Arts in Teaching program.

Ed is now semi-retired and lives in Blue Ridge where he provides personal financial advising for a variety of clients also writing extensively on that topic. He enjoys playing the euphonium with the Young Harris Community Band and other civic endeavors.

Mountain Light, 2502 Tails Creek Road (GA-282 West) in Ellijay, is a Welcoming Congregation. We welcome guests of all faiths, ethnicities, and gender identifications. Our coffee and fellowship begins at 10 AM, followed by the service from 10:30 to 11:30.

Religious Education is provided for children by Dr. Aimee Cribbs on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. The next date is September 23.
