March for Our Lives Atlanta 2018

The UNITE crew piled into Wendy’s van and headed to Atlanta for the March for Our Lives last Saturday, March 24th.   Three teens and four adults from the congregation were joined by Aimee’s college roommate and her daughter.   In preparation for the event, we met up a week before the rally for an information session about gun laws in Georgia and the history of the #neveragain movement.  All three teens chose to participate in the rally.  It was quite an experience!  We rode MARTA to the Civil and Human Rights Museum, where we heard speakers, including civil rights icon, John Lewis.  We marched along with about 20,000 people from the museum to the CNN Center.  It was peaceful, powerful and as Hope describes, “a bonding experience”.
