MAR 11 Service

On Sunday, 2018 March 11, Mountain Light Unitarian Universalist Church welcomes Rev. Marti Keller to speak at our morning worship service. The title of Rev. Keller’s sermon is “Eloquent Rage.”

Regardless of gender, we receive persistent messages about the folly and the downside of anger. A couple of years back a documentary film chronicled the history of righteous anger when women sought the right to vote and the right of reproductive choice. It was titled “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry”. This year, one of the most anticipated new books was Eloquent Rage, celebrating the power behind the activism of black women. What are the lessons for all of us?

Rev. Marti Keller is the minister with the Unitarian Universalist Women’s Federation, whose mission is to attain justice and equity for women and girls and to promote their full spiritual growth. She has been a UU parish and community minister for almost 20 years. Prior to ordination, she was a journalist, cultural critic, and advocate on behalf of women and their families.

Mountain Light, 2502 Tails Creek Road (GA-282 West), in Ellijay is a Welcoming Congregation. We welcome guests of all faiths, ethnicities and gender identification. Our coffee and fellowship begins at 10 AM., followed by the service from 10:30 to 11:30.
