FEB 04 Service

Mountain Light Unitarian Universalist Church in Ellijay will welcome the Rev. Jennifer L. Dalton to be our speaker at our worship service on Sunday, 2018 February 04. Her sermon title is “The Ethical Use of Power”. The news media has recently been filled with stories of powerful people who abused their authority and position. Each of us may find ourselves in situations every day where we wield power. How can we be more aware of these situations and more aware of how we wield power in our personal and public lives?

Rev. Dalton was born and raised in the mountains of Virginia. Spiritually, she was raised Mormon and Southern Baptist. She spent four years as an aircraft technician in the USAF before completing her bachelor’s degree in political science and (many years later) her Master of Divinity degree from Emory’s Candler School of Theology. She is currently ordained and recognized by the Alliance of Baptists and considers herself a Unitarian Universalist Baptist. Jennifer is currently working at Atlanta Medical Center as a Patient Advocate.

Mountain Light, 2502 Tails Creek Road (GA-282 West), in Ellijay, is a Welcoming Congregation. We welcome guests of all faiths, ethnicities, and gender identifications. Our coffee and fellowship begins at 10 AM, followed by the service from 10:30 to 11:30.
