On Sunday, 2018 January 21, Mountain Light Unitarian Universalist Church (MLUUC) in Ellijay welcomes Mr. Ken Sizemore, “the Old Folkie”, as our guest speaker and performer at our worship service.  The title of Ken’s presentation will be, “Ken’s Original Music–Songs of My Family and Friends”.  During this musical morning Ken will share memories seen through rose-colored glasses.  There will be songs about high school romance, best buddies for life, the miracle of finding SUSIE, the amazing and supernaturally brilliant Sizemore boys, a “Music Man” dad who did not actually exist, and a tongue-in-cheek look at the generation gap as demonstrated by musical trends and tastes.  This program will be unabashedly sentimental—don’t miss it!!

Ken Sizemore has been performing folk, country, and early pop music all over the country for more than 40 years.  While based in Nashville for almost 30 years, Ken performed as a solo artist, as part of the folk duo “Judith and Ken”, and with the folk trio “The Folk Revival”.  Ken moved to Panama City, Florida, in 1999, and has continued to perform all over the southeastern US since then.  He has performed at thousands of concerts in clubs, coffee houses, and festivals throughout the United States.  As a Unitarian Universalist himself, Ken has developed a variety of programs around several themes that he presents to church groups, civic organizations, and clubs.

Mountain Light, 2502 Tails Creek Road (282 West), in Ellijay is a Welcoming Congregation.  We welcome guests of all faiths, ethnicities and gender identification.  Our coffee and fellowship begins at 10 AM., followed by the service from 10:30 to 11:30.
