Sunday, September 17

The Rev. Dr. Scott Dillard will give a sermon entitled “The Compassionate Heart” for our worship service at Mountain Light Unitarian Universalist Church (MLUUC) on Sunday, September 17, 2017, in Ellijay.

Scott will explain how loving relationships can be said to start with a feeling of compassion for one another, for being able to acknowledge the suffering of others, and to be able to want to reach across whatever divides us to see the world from the perspective of others. By looking at compassion as a spiritual practice we may bridge the divides that separate us, thereby bringing us into closer communion with one another.

Dr. Dillard is a prominent professor of rhetoric at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA.  He is a frequent and popular speaker at Mountain Light.
