Active Hope Workshop Offered at Emerson

Based on the work of Joanna Macy, Eco-philosopher, scholar of Buddhism, general system theology and deep ecology, and author of 13 books including Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We’re In Without Going Crazy.  This participatory workshop on Active Hope addresses the environmental and social problems that we are facing. It is based on over four decades of community-based work with thousands of people around the world. It is designed to help you transform fear and despair into inspiration and a sense of empowerment. We will explore gratitude, anger, grief, and hope and move into a deeper understanding of how to create our best collective future. We will end the workshop with exercises to help us support one another as we go forth and work towards a more sustainable, just, and peaceful world where all beings can thrive.
As an added bonus, attending this workshop makes Emerson or other attendees eligible to fill out a brief application to be considered for seed money for environmental/community projects. Mini-grants are provided by The Four Directions Fund at Georgia Interfaith Power and Light.

Join us at Emerson May 7th, Sunday from 12:30 to 5:30. Friends and visitors welcome.

Cost: Love Offering (used as a pay-it-forward gift for the next Four Directions Fund activities)
